JULIUS
I cannot restrain anyone for being vociferous and outspoken. I admire some of the students who have the conviction that they are radical avant-gardes -revolutionaries with unbounded revolutionary fervor. Who can sore with the agility and alacrity of eagles - they are bound to see what ailing Legon is. They can see the rot, the filth, and the corruption engulfing the towers. They can emerge from hitherto oblivious intellectual lagoon and deliver long speeches, write treatise and pamphlets charged with the wildest emotion. They must also bear in mind that Legon has passed through turbulent periods, had sunk into tribulations and incomprehensible trials. But it has endured it all, has triumphed. Even though the golden age of Legon can never be retrieved, at this critical period, our spirits saddened by the pressing needs of the time, the ills afflicting the hill of knowledge harrowing and prepossessing - degeneration is a word we must not invoke. It is time we break from the shackles, stagnancy and make a giant stride in progress. If Legon will lack anything, would it be knowledge
